Nightingale-Brown House Collections

Access to more than seven hundred historic objects, fully digitized and searchable.

From 1814 to 1985, the Nightingale-Brown House was home to five successive generations of the Brown family. From this home, family members shaped and witnessed major changes in government, economics, the arts, and education. Over the years, they adapted the Georgian-style home and its furnishings to meet the needs, tastes, and interests of each generation. The historic furnishings within the house encompass its long history as a family home and as a showcase for colonial, Victorian, and colonial revival collections.
