Blake McGready received his Ph.D. from the CUNY Graduate Center, where he studied environmental history and the American Revolution. He served as Associate Curator at the Museum of the City of New York for their special exhibition, The Occupied City: New York and the American Revolution. He has received fellowships from institutions such as the Massachusetts Historical Society, and the William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan, and the American Philosophical Society. Before pursuing his doctorate, he worked for the National Park Service.
